Advice from the Owner
We transformed a grass front yard into a really pretty and water wise tree/flower garden. I reused the brick from the wall we took down to make a base for the berms. I killed the grass with thick wet layers of cardboard topped with wood chips. Start with big stuff first - plant trees/shrubs, any demolition, rework the sprinkler system. Enlist friends, we hired 2 nice guys who did a lot of work for us. We aren't done yet. We still need gravel for a path from front of house to street.
